About Sue Penna Associates

Sue Penna originally qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1987 and over a 17 year career in mental health worked with adults experiencing organic and functional mental health difficulties in hospital and community settings.

As Office Manager and Administrator, Kay brings a wealth of experience to the organisation. She has worked in a secretarial and administrative capacity in both the public and private sector for over 20 years.

Karen began working in the field of domestic abuse, during the final year of her psychology degree, at a women’s refuge as a Support Worker and later the Child/Family Support Co-ordinator. Following her graduation Karen joined Victim Support Cornwall running the Anti-Bullying Cornwall project throughout the County’s schools.

A few years later Karen returned to the refuge as Manager and remained there for 5 years. During that time Karen developed a range of internal and outreach projects as well as managing the day to day running of the refuge. Karen worked alongside Sue Penna piloting the Recovery Toolkit within the refuge and its external projects.

Karen has delivered training within the refuge and alongside the local Safeguarding unit. In 2008 Karen d began work as a freelance trainer. She is now a senior associate with Sue Penna Associates delivering a range of training. She is also an internal assessor for Sue Penna Associates National Open College Network accredited training programmes.

 

A chartered psychologist, Vicky has worked with Sue Penna Associates on several projects. Currently she is part of the team evaluating Devon’s ADVA Partnerships ‘Invest to save’ programme.

Perfect Moment have worked with Sue Penna Associates on a number of projects including

  • A cost benefit analysis of Adva’s, domestic violence, Invest to Save programme in Devon
  • An Economic Impact Study of Hull NHS Strength to Change project working with perpetrators of domestic violence
  • Case studies and impact assessment for Dreadnought  - a voluntary sector organisation in Cornwall providing counselling and emotional support to young people

Jo spent nearly nine years in a relationship in which she suffered emotional and physical violence. Jo takes part in training delivery to talk about her abusive relationship and offer insights into her experiences which has proved invaluable for agencies and individuals attending training events.
